Thyroid Function Support
Source: Clinical Research
Protocol for supporting thyroid function in Hashimoto's thyroiditis and subclinical hypothyroidism. PBM applied directly to the thyroid gland has shown promising results in reducing TPO antibodies and improving thyroid hormone levels.
Protocol Parameters
| Condition | Hypothyroidism / Hashimoto's |
| Wavelengths | 660nm, 810nm, 830nm, 850nm |
| Dosage | 3-6 J/cm² |
| Irradiance | 30-80 mW/cm² |
| Duration | 5-10 minutes per lobe |
| Frequency | 3-5x per week for 4-6 months |
| Body Zone | neck |
| Evidence Level | Emerging |
Mechanism of Action
PBM reduces autoimmune inflammation in the thyroid gland, decreases lymphocyte infiltration, promotes thyrocyte regeneration, and enhances vascularity to the gland. This can lead to reduced autoantibody levels and improved thyroid hormone output.

Treatment Tips
- *Apply directly to the anterior neck over each thyroid lobe
- *Monitor thyroid function labs regularly with your doctor
- *Do NOT adjust thyroid medications without medical supervision
- *Results may take 3-6 months to manifest
Contraindications
- !Thyroid cancer or nodules (evaluate first)
