Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RedLightOS mobile application and related services ("the Service") operated by RedLightOS ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Medical Disclaimer

RedLightOS is NOT a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

The app is a tracking and information tool for red light therapy (photobiomodulation). Protocols, dose calculations, AI Coach responses, and educational content are provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical advice. The evidence grades and citations referenced in protocols are based on published research and do not constitute clinical recommendations.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any light therapy regimen, especially if you have a medical condition, take photosensitizing medication, or are pregnant. You use RedLightOS entirely at your own risk.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use RedLightOS only for its intended purpose. You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app or its components.
  • Use the app to provide medical advice or clinical recommendations to others.
  • Attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the Service's infrastructure.
  • Upload malicious content, spam, or inappropriate material through the community protocol marketplace.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without written permission.

3. Accounts

Account creation is optional. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and promptly update it if it changes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

RedLightOS offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Subscriptions are processed through Google Play and managed via our payment partner. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play settings on your device.
  • Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policy.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will retain their current price until the end of their billing period.
  • Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends.

5. Intellectual Property

The RedLightOS app, including its design, code, protocols database, educational content, AI Coach, and branding, is the intellectual property of RedLightOS and is protected by copyright and trademark law. The RedLightOS name and logo are trademarks of RedLightOS.

You retain ownership of your personal data, session logs, photos, and custom protocols. By sharing protocols through the community marketplace, you grant RedLightOS a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute those protocols within the app.

6. User-Generated Content

If you share protocols through the community marketplace, you represent that you have the right to share that content and that it does not violate any third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or is reported as inappropriate. User-shared protocols must not contain medical claims, harmful instructions, or misleading information.

7. AI Coach Disclaimer

The AI Coach feature is powered by artificial intelligence and provides general informational responses about red light therapy. AI Coach responses are not medical advice and may contain inaccuracies. You should verify any information provided by the AI Coach with independent sources. We are not liable for decisions made based on AI Coach responses.

8. Light Check Disclaimer

The Light Check feature provides estimates only. Phone camera sensors are not calibrated measurement instruments, and irradiance values shown are approximate. Do not rely on Light Check for safety-critical measurements. For accurate irradiance measurement, use a calibrated optical power meter.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of RedLightOS is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RedLightOS and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Any health outcomes, injuries, or adverse effects resulting from red light therapy performed based on information from the app.
  • Any loss of data due to device failure, app malfunction, or service interruption.
  • Any inaccuracy in dose calculations, irradiance estimates, or protocol recommendations.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RedLightOS from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice. Core local functionality (session tracking, dose calculation) works offline and is not dependent on our servers.

13. Termination

You may stop using RedLightOS at any time by uninstalling the app. If you have an account, you can delete it from the app settings. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, but provisions that by their nature should survive (including Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Medical Disclaimer) will remain in effect.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Indonesian arbitration law, unless prohibited by your local jurisdiction.
