How the Calculator Works

Dose Formula: Dose (J/cm²) = Irradiance (mW/cm²) × Time (seconds) ÷ 1000

Distance Adjustment: Adjusted Irradiance = Rated Irradiance × (Rated Distance ÷ Actual Distance)²

Irradiance decreases with the square of distance. Moving from 6 inches to 12 inches reduces irradiance by 75%, requiring 4× longer sessions for the same dose.
